Corbin
At his home in Altoona, Matthew W. Corbin died at 1.15 o'clock Friday afternoon, of diseases incident to old age. He had been an invalid for 12 years.
Mr. Corbin was a native of Huntingdon county, and was born July 18, 1832, being aged at death, 79 year. Here he grew to manhood and was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Baker. He was a carpenter by trade and followed that occupation until his last illness, except for three years during the Civil war when he served his country faithfully until discharged, with other members of company B, one hundred and forty-seventh regiment. He was a member of the Church of God and died in that faith.
Surviving him are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Nellie Roher, Second Ave., Juniata; J.W. Corbin, of Millville; W.C.C., of Hollidaysburg; J.H. of Altoona; Thomas and W.M., of Chicago; R., of Pittsburg; Earl, at home.
