Sister Marie Claudia was born in Clifton, N.J., the daughter of William and Catherine (Lesch) Rink. She entered the Sisters of Charity on Sept. 8, 1944, and was a member for 70 years. Sister Marie Claudia graduated from Saint Mary Hospital School of Nursing in Passaic, N.J., and Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., with a B.S.N. degree. She served in the health ministry at St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, N.J. She was an assistant nursing arts instructor, supervisor of central service department, supervisor of obstetrics, and director of obstetric, pediatric, and surgical nursing services. She then served an administrative assistant, an acuity/auditory coordinator in nursing, and as a volunteer nursing administrator. Sister Marie Claudia Rink retired to Saint Anne Villa in 2010, where she resided until her death. She is survived by the Sisters of Charity, numerous nieces and nephews, and grand and great-grand-nieces and nephews.
