Esther Louise Oles was born in Sheridan township, Clare County, Michigan, July 4, 1875 and departed this life September 1, 1940 at the age of 64 years, 1 month and 27 days. On July 5, 1895 she was united in marriage to Evan Towers. To this union were born 11 children, five of them and the husband preceeded her in death. On July 1936 she was united in marriage to Chas. Cass [sic. really Charles Kast] of Reed City. She leaves to mourn their loss Geo. and Alvin Towers of Marion, Elmer of Reed City, Alice Hammond of Midland, Alfred and Emory of Flint, one sister, Mrs. Emily Barhitte, nineteen grandchildren, 9 nieces and 9 nephews besides other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. E. Welch at the Middle Branch church Tuesday afternoon with interment in Middle Branch cemetery. Those attending the funeral from away were Alfred and Emory Towers of Flint, Mr. And Mrs. Lewis Hammond of Midland, Elmer Towers of Reed City, Peter and Merle Rodabugh and family of Flint, Roy Brown and family of Flint, Floyd Rodabaugh of Kalkaska, Harley Fisher and family of Evart, Rev. Welch of Clare, and Mr. And Mrs. Freed and two ladies of Reed City and Roy Rodabaugh and family of Flint.
