Ezra was the son of Henry Barrick b. Apr. 1, 1757 Frederick, MD. and Margaret Keller b. abt. 1760 in Frederick Co., MD. Ezra's grandfather was Johann (Dillman) Berg b. Jun. 15, 1710 in Hesse-Nassau, Prussia. When he came to this country the name eventually became Barrick. Johann married Judith (Juliane) unk. who was born Aug. 27, 1724 in Frederick Co., MD. Johann passed away before May 1787 in Frederick Co., MD and Judith on Oct. 19, 1793 in Frederick Co., MD. Ezra married Sarah Small on Aug. 25, 1827 in Louisville, KY. I have also found Sarah's name listed as Sarah Sims or Simms Small.

They moved on to Ill. where they had 5 children. They were Mary Ellen, Ann Eliza, Richard H., Charles Francis and George Lewis.

Ezra's father Henry passed away May 8, 1834 in Frederick Co. and his mother Margaret passed away Jan. 26, 1809 Frederick Co.

Ezra also fought in the War of 1812. I am not 100% sure that Ezra is buried in this cemetery, but since he lived in the area for many years I thought this was the most logical place that he may have been buried.

See his son George's memorial for further information on Ezra's life.
