William Scott Vinzant, a brave little lad hardly eight years, felt the gentle touch of death last Saturday at 9:00 in the morning and entered that other life that is better than this.

William was all that a boy of his years should be. He was devoted to his parents and in him his playmates found a congenial little comrade. Three months ago he was attacked by deadly disease that he opposed with all his fortitude to the last. What his life could have been, no one can say, but the inception of it, which has been seen, gave promise of gentlemanliness and usefulness out of the ordinary.

William was born April 3, 1901 and died January 29, 1909 at 9:15 a.m.

The funeral which was public to friends was held this afternoon at the home of his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Vinzant on North main Street. Rev. W. H. Perdew conducting the service. The rooms were covered and massed in flowers, and appropriate words were spoken about the little casket which lay in it's bower of beauty. The interment was in Oakland cemetery, and there on the sod, beneath the trees were preformed the last sad rites, showing the inscrutable ways of God.
