CROSS PLAINS — Agatha C. Laufenberg, age 82, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2001. She was born on December 2, 1918, in Martinsville, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Anna (Worringer) Statz. On May 24, 1939, Agatha married Aloysius "Allie" Laufenberg, and together they farmed in the Middleton-Cross Plains area. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1999. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, and volunteered for St. Marys Hospital for more than 17 years and the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary in Madison. Agatha liked making arts and crafts and tending her flowers, and used her talent to create floral arrangements, but enjoyed most of all her time spent with her family. She is survived by her children, Dick (Doris) Laufenberg of Blanchardville, and Dan (Celeste) Laufenberg and Mary (Steve) Bjorklund, both of Blue Mounds; four grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Margaret Statz, Alberta Laufenberg and Josephine Stoffels. In addition to her husband, Allie, she was preceded in death by two sons, Dale, on July 1, 1966, and Donovan, on March 25, 1997. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST, FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2947 Thinnes St., Cross Plains, at 11:30 on Wednesday, January 31, 2001. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
