Denzil L. Ekart
Denzil L. Ekart, 94, Laconia, died Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Harrison Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.
Born Aug. 26, 1920, in Harrison County, he was the son of the late Vallee and Ida Miller Ekart.
He was a retired rural U.S. Postal Service delivery person, a farmer and a member of Union Chapel Christian Church and the IOOF lodge, both in Laconia.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Irleen Bartley; two sisters, Thelda Hisey and Thelma Durbin; and a brother, Manford Ekart.
Survivors include a brother, Burrell Ekart of Laconia, and his nieces, Joyce Bliss and Judith Bradshaw, who cared for him.
Visitation: Tuesday, June 9, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 10, after 9 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Wednesday, June 10, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia.
Officiant: The Rev. Ron Stuart.
Pallbearers: Rick Weathers, Randy Hisey, Keith Watson, Ralph Bradshaw, Jay Ekart and Tim Lillpop.
Honorary pallbearers: Ralph Bliss, Scott Neddler and Gary Ekart.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Union Chapel Christian Church.
