Mary Lou Julien, age 96 of Connersville, passed away on Friday June 5, 2015 at her home.

Born February 18, 1919 in Fairview, IN, the daughter of the late James and Allie Sutter Ochiltree.

She is a 1937 graduate of Connersville High School.

In 1968 she began taking classes with the Whitewater College Program obtaining credits from Earlham, Ball State, and I.U. East through twelve years of night school.

She began substitute teaching within the Fayette County School Corporation in 1971, retiring after 30 years. She also had worked in her yearly years at McQuay Norris and American Central.

After high school she became active in the Delta Theta Tau for several years and was a Charter Member of the Inter-Culture Club. In the 1960's she was active in the "In His Name" Circle of the Kings Daughters and Sons, Inc. She was also a member of the Central Christian Church and had attended Fairview Christian Church when she was younger.

She is survived by her son, Rick Julien and wife Kelly of Connersville; a sister, Eileen Dubois and husband Lowell of Connersville; grandchildren, Melissa Julien Johnson and husband Craig and Desiree Julien; two great grandchildren, Gage and Kerstin Jordon; nieces, Judy White of Florida and Nancy Weeks of Connersville; nephews, Eddy Dubois, Phillip Nutty of Shelbyville and Jamie Ochiltree III.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Julien whom she married on August 8, 1956 in Shelbyville; a brother James Ochiltree; a sister, Ione Nutty and an infant sister Jane Elizabeth Ochiltree.

Funeral services will be conducted at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Monday June 8, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Michael Sinclair and Pastor Gary Kirchoff officiating.

Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.

Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.
