Margaret (Shriver) and Thomas Hennessey adopted Ann. Ann would grow up and marry Sampson Tams, who was born in England, sailed to NY in 1816, moved to Philadelphia in 1819 or 1820, and Nationalized in 1832. Sampson, and his brother, William established “Tams & Brother” they manufactured and imported china, glass, and “queens-ware” and was located at the corner of Market and 6th Street, Philadelphia, a location regarded as the finest in the city. Ann (Hennessey) and Sampson Tams had two children Hennessy and Eugenia.
