She was the daughter of Norman Lane Payne and Mary Catherine Gaughan Payne and married Charles William Chastain, Jr. - 22 Mar 1930 - Jackson Co., Missouri. Her obituary follows:

Faith Agnes Chastain, age 84, a teacher and homemaker from 32 Memorial Drive, Winchester, died January 31 at Winchester Healthcare Center. She was the daughter of Norman Lane Payne and Mary Catherine Gaughan Payne. She was a native of Milan, Missouri. She is survived by her husband, Charles William Chastain, Jr. of Winchester; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Faith and H. Leroy Henderson of Winchester; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles William Chastain, III and Dana Denman Chastain of Boone Terre, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 2 at 10 a.m. for Good Shepherd Catholic Church with interment in Franklin Memorial Gardens. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
