Isaac J Jones
Isaac J Jones, 53, formerly of Edwardsville, a brakeman for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad, died Saturday at his home in Lanesboro. A native of the West Side, he was active for years in civic circles of Edwardsville and was a member of Franklin Hose Company before moving to Lanesboro 18 years ago.
He was a member of Kingston Council, 356, Junior Order United American Mechanics; also of the Brotherhood of Trainmen, and served on the Lanesboro school board.
Besides his widow, he is survived by his mother, Mrs William J Jones, Edwardsville, and these children: William Arlington, NJ; John A, of Philadelphia Motor Police at Philadelphia; Rachel, RN, Mrs James Smith, Weehawken, NJ and Edward at Union College, Barbourville, Kentucky. Also by these brothers and sisters: Rev Gordon Jones, Episcopal rector at Haledon, NJ; Thomas, Edwardsville; William, Huntingdon; Oswald, Herkimer; Mrs Arlington Reese, Forty Fort; Mrs Gilbert N Carpenter, Edwardsville; Mrs Archie Nancarrow, Herkimer, NY.
The funeral will be held tomorrow, with services in Lanesboro Church at 10:30, followed by services at 3 in the Edwards Memorial Church, Edwardsville, with Rev Enoch Hughes officiating. Interment will be in Forty Fort Cemetery.
