Don was a police officer in Dearborn Heights, Michigan for more than 20 years, and he served as that city's Chief of Police for many of those years. He was the youngest Police Chief in the state of Michigan, having won the position at age 34. While serving as Chief of Police, Don was invited to attend the prestigious FBI National Academy, where he took courses at the FBI campus in Quantico, Virginia and finished at the top of his class.
Don loved to play golf, and was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan. His lifetime hero was the legendary baseball player Ted Williams. As a teenager, Don even tried out for the Detroit Tigers during a Florida spring training season.
Don was the beloved father of three children, Donald Allmand Loose, of Tucson, Arizona, Kenneth Loose, of Byron Center, and Margie Lane, of Sarasota, Florida. Don is also survived by seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
His entire family mourns his passing. Don's body will be laid to eternal rest next to his parents.
