Virden, Jan. 24. - Mrs. Harriet McKinney received word Saturday from Grandfield, Okla., that her brother, Henry C. Crawford, had died Friday evening at 7:10 o'clock at his home in Grandfield. He was 83 years old Oct. 14, 1914.
Decedent was born at Collinsville, Pa., and came to Virden when about the age of forty years and resided here until about six years ago, when he went to Oklahoma to reside. When at the age of 21 he was united in marriage with Mrs. Eliza Ann McDonald. Eight children were born to this union. A son and daughter preceded their parents to the grave. The following children survive: Mrs. Grace Gilbert of Sacramento, Cal.; Mrs. William Sprowell of Tulsa, Okla.; H. V. and Samuel Crawford of Springfield and Miss Della Crawford at home. Mr. Crawford was a public-spirited man and held several offices of trust while a resident of this city.
The funeral arrangements have not yet been completed, but the body will arrive in Virden Monday night and the funeral will be held Tuesday under the auspices of the Virden lodge of Odd Fellows, of which he was one of the oldest members.

Crawford - Died, Friday, Jan. 22, 1915, at the home of his daughter, Miss Della Crawford, in Greenfield, Okla., Henry Crawford, a former resident of Virden, aged 83 years.
Decedent was born Oct. 14, 1832, at Colesville, Pa., and moved from there to Pittsburg, then to Athens, Ohio, where he lived until he was 17 years of age, when he removed to Jeffersonville, Wayne county, Illinois, where he married Miss Eliza McDannell.
In 1865 he moved to Virden, where he lived until four years ago, when he removed to Greenfield, Okla., where he died.
He is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Sula Sprowell, of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. William Gilbert of Sacramento, Cal.; Mrs. Anna Logsdon and Miss Della Crawford, both of Greenfield, Okla.; two sons, H. V. and S. M. Crawford, of Springfield, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Marriet McKinney, living near Virden.
He was a charter member of Virden Lodge No. 534, I. O. O. F., which was instituted July 31, 1877, and has remained a member ever since.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon at the Virden Christian church. Burial will be in Virden cemetery.
