Christopher Paul Ackfeld, age 49, of Sparta, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2006, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born May 18, 1957, in St. Louis, the son of Edward Henry Ackfeld and Margaret Floriana (Vezeau) Ackfeld. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Chris was employed as a department supervisor for O'Reilly Auto Parts. He was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Ozark. He loved his family and always looked forward to his children's activities. Survivors include five children, Christopher Ackfeld, Jr. and Kenya, Springfield, John Ackfeld and Nicole, Republic, Matthew Ackfeld, serving our country in Germany, Logan Ackfeld and Ashley Ackfeld, both of the home; his mother, Floriana Ackfeld, Reeds Spring; five grandchildren, Serenity, Trenton, Aniya, Amora, and Nyah; five brothers and sisters, Richard Ackfeld and wife, Sharon, Desoto, Barbara Holy, Dallas, Texas, Thomas Ackfeld and wife, Glenda, Fenton, Edward Ackfeld, Jr. and wife, Peggy, Reeds Spring, and Jeanne Hale and husband, Rusty, Springfield; his fiancee, Kathleen Kincaid; his stepchildren, Scott and Alison Kincaid; an aunt, Vera Barth; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Dave Parry, Chadwick. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward; a daughter, Laura Ackfeld; and a brother-inlaw, Hank Holy. A Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Ozark, with Father Paul McLoughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with a prayer service following at 8 p.m.
