Early Life: Bonnie was born March 22, 1945, to William Horne and Wanda Mae Green Bennion in Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended East High School and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Nursing.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: She met her husband, Dr. Richard C. Brown, at the University of Utah Hospital while serving together on the surgery unit. On August 11, 1971, they married in Uxbridge, England, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 12, 1985, where she was sealed to her husband and children for time and all eternity. She was a tender and fun-loving mother who treasured her kids and doted on her grandkids. They all loved her scavenger hunts, cabin adventures, heartfelt testimonies and limitless attention span. Bonnie loved to sing and joined a group of doctors' wives who sang together in a group known as the Medical Melodies. She kept in contact with friends from high school as well as friends from the Delta Gamma Sorority throughout her life. She helped her husband establish the Radiation Oncology Center in Provo, Utah, and two satellite oncology offices in Durango, Colorado, as well as St. George, Utah. Bonnie was a wonderful big sister to her little brother and became his caregiver on the passing of her parents. She spent many hours making sure her brother received the love and care he deserved. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved to feast from the scriptures. She served in variety of church callings for the Edgemont 14th Ward in Provo. Bonnie Bennion Brown died surrounded by family and friends on June 3, 2015, after a courageous fight against cancer. She was 70 years old.
Survived By: Her husband; her children: Brandon Brown (Na Young) and Amy Messenger (Robert); and her eight grandchildren: Sahara, Marina, Autumn, Andrew, Amber, Bennion, Emma and Andrea.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents; her younger brother, William G. Bennion; and her stepdaughter, Tree Hayes.
