C. Woodrow Barnes, 73, a farmer In the Gibson City area for many years, died at 4:43 p.m. Tuesday (March 1, 1988) at Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City. He was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Dix Township, Ford County, a son of. Charles and Una Wood Barnes.

He married Dorothy G. Leonard on Jan. 11, 1940, in Gibson City. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Richard "Bud," Gibson City; one brother, Walter, Gibson City; and five grandchildren.

One son, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. In addition to farming, Mr. Barnes drove a school bus for the local unit district.

He was a member of the Gibson City Community Unit District 1 Board of Education for six years. Mr. Barnes was a member of the United Methodist Church of Gibson City and was a member of the board of trustees and the Ad Board of the church. He also was a member of the Gibson City Masonic Lodge 733, AF AM and the Drummer Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
