Funeral services for W.J. Brigance, who died early Monday morning at his home in Tolosa, were held at the Baker Cemetery at 3 p.m. Tuesday, with Rev. J.E. Bufkin conducting.
Mr. Brigance was born in Weakling County, Tennessee, on June 13, 1871, and came to Texas with his parents twelve years later. For the past 63 years he had been a resident of the Tolosa community.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Eva Dorough; a grandson, Fred Dorough, and a great-grandson, Freddie Dorough; three brothers, C.L. Brigance of Mabank, A.N. Brigance of Corsicana, and Jess Brigance of Tahoka; and other relatives.
