Funeral services for Louise Ivey Welch Hickman will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in the Dixie Baptist Church of Sieper with Brother Danny Church and her Pastor, Brother Jerry Johnson officiating. Committal services will follow in the Fellowship Methodist Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Alexandria.

Mrs. Louise was born on October 23, 1932 to Joe and Josephine Ivey and was known to her family as Lou, Mother, and MeMe. She was a lifelong member of Dixie Church and taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School class as long as she was able. She loved Gospel Singing at our Sieper Community Church; and her lifelong friend, Vada Ray Hogan who preceded her in death by 7 days.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Roy W. Welch of 21 years and John Kenneth Hickman of 36 years; two sons, Richard Hickman and Ronald Hickman.

Those left behind to celebrate her home going are: her children, Rita Welch (Keith Ruff), Pam Welch (Edward Smith), Roxanne Welch, Martin Welch (Lisa Welch), Scot Welch (Michelle Welch), John Hickman (Darlene), Margaret-Hickman, and Gail Pasternak (Ed); her brother, Don Ivey; four sisters, Lavern Estes, Myrtle Lee Chandler, Linda Duthile, and Sue Mason; fourteen grandchildren, Kisha Crooks, Chad Ruff, Keane Ruff, Edward Smith, Brandon Welch Smith, Ashton Smith, Kristin McCarty, Ryan McCarty, Josh McCarty, Jared Welch, Kami Holden, Ashley Rutledge, James Hickman and Lori Hickman; nine great grandchildren, Drake Crooks, Issac McCarty, Allie Nichols, Logan Ruff, Alyssa and Ethan Smith, Gavin, Euri, and Silas McCarty, Noah Welch, Emily and Austin Rutledge; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Edward Smith, Brandon Smith, Chad Ruff, Keane Ruff, Jared Welch, Ryan McCarty, Josh McCarty, and James Hickman. Honorary pallbearers honored to serve will be Ashton Smith, Isaac McCarty, Drake Crooks, and Logan Ruff.

Visitation will begin today, June 10, 2015 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. in the Dixie Baptist Church of Sieper.
