"Rachel Pounds Wallace was born in Bath township, Mason County, ILL., in 1848.
In the later part of 1866, she removed to the west, where she remained until nine years ago when she returned to this state and since that time has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Blunt, except when otherwise employed.
She professed religion at the age of 14 years and united with the Baptist church.
On Jan. 8, 1898 she became a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist church. Her death [sic] occured Jan. 27, 1907, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Blunt in Kilbourne.
She was a faithful friend and lived a life worthy to inherit a mansion prepared by the Heavenly Father for those who love and obey him.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Zion Baptist church, at 2:30 o'clock p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, Rev. Mounts officiating, and the interment was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
