Marilyn A. Thurston, 82, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015, surrounded by family at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. She was born November 14, 1932, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Bedna and Jesse (Terhune) Massingale. On April 20, 1952, she married her husband of 63 years, Keith B. Thurston, and he survives. She was preceded in death by her parents.


Marilyn graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1951. She was an active and contributing member of First Christian Church and the Shelby County Republican Party. Marilyn was also a member of Psi Iota Xi Sorority and the National, State and Local Board of Realtors. Marilyn enjoyed a highly successful career in real estate, as a partner in the Boyd and Thurston Century 21 Agency and Appraisal, Inc. She deeply loved and cherished any and all time she could spend with her grandchildren. Marilyn enjoyed playing golf and accompanying Keith on many business related trips across the United States.
