James was the son of George Washington Lovrien and Sophia Maria Bixby. He married Mattie Imus on 14 Aug 1881 in Great Bend, MN. They were the parents of Charles, Helen, George, Frances, Blanche, Emma, Sidney, Neva, Roselpha, and Mary.

February 29, 1952 - Humboldt Republican - Several from here attended the funeral of James Lovrien of Eagle Grove Monday. The Lovriens are former residents of this community. He was the grandfather of Morris Fuller and the father of Mrs Leo Fuller.
