Raymond E. Hansen, 73, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his home in St. George, UT on January 21, 2015.

Raymond was born in Oxnard, California on June 4, 1941 to Edmond L. and Norma Gwenn Hansen. Raymond spent his early years in Payson, Utah with brother David and sister Charlotte. He joined the Navy shortly after High School and served our country proudly. His training in the Navy and hard work ethic let to a successful career in the electronics industry. He hired on for Western Electric installation then transferred to Mountain Bell and retired from Qwest, Inc. in 2001 with over 40 years of service. Many will remember Ray for his passion for hunting and fishing especially with his grandson Quaid, leaving us with tales that will be told for years to come. Many will remember Ray "Hotdog" Hansen for years of dedicated service to the St. George "Dixie" Elks Lodge serving as Exalted Ruler four times, State President for the Utah Elks Association and District Deputy for the Grand Lodge plus many volunteer hours on different charities and projects.

He enjoyed his retirement years and was able to pursue his passion for wood working. Many benefited from his talents especially his family, receiving heirlooms such as baby cradles, rocking horses, shadow boxes, cedar chests, jewelry boxes and even replicas of musical instruments to just name a few.

Perhaps most of all, Ray enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends and they will miss him dearly.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 38 years Virginia, his son Scott and Cheryl, (Surprise, AZ) daughter Jennifer (Cedar City, Utah), son Justin (Seattle, WA), grandchildren, Quaid, Haley, Madisyn, Tatum, brother David and Teresa Hansen (Layton, Utah) sister Charlotte and Martin Dodge (Orem, Utah).

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the St. George "Dixie" Elks Lodge, 630 W. 1250 N. at 10:00 a.m.

The Hansen Family would like to extend a special thank you to the Huntsman-Intermountain Care Center and Southern Utah Home Health Care Hospice for their exemplary level of care and support for Ray.
