Reba Bingham Brooks, 90, of Linville Creek Road, Vilas, died May 22, 2015. She was born October 14, 1924 in Elizabethton, TN. She was employed at Brooks Plumbing & Heating, Inc. for over 30 years which was founded by her husband in 1947.
Reba was a member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church. She was a very active church member and choir member. She enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible Schools. She provided refreshments and hauled numerous children to Bible School to make sure that they had the opportunity to hear the gospel of Christ. She served as the president of the Brushy Fork WMU (Women's Missionary Union) which has since been named the Reba Circle in honor of her many years of service and commitment. She was also a long-time member of the Brushy Fork Extension Club.
She is survived by her son Larry Brooks and wife, Melanie, of Vilas; two grandsons, Jason Brooks and wife, Laura, and Justin Brooks and wife, Marta; and four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ashley, Nolan and Kara Brooks, all of Vilas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Hiram Brooks, Jr.; and five brothers, Joe, Horace, Bill, George and Sherman Bingham.
Funeral services were held at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Herbert Parunak and Rev. Shane Golds. Burial at Mountlawn Memorial Park and Gardens.
