Greer - A. Clarence Elmore, 89, of S. Trade St. died Friday
He was a native of Union County, son of the late George W. and Alice Spencer Elmore, but spent most of his life in Greer. He was a member of Victor Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Pearson Elmore; a son, Charles Elmore of Greer; a daughter, Mrs. Clifton T. (Margaret) Black of Greer; three brothers, Oscar and Ira Elmore of Gaffney and John Elmore of Shelby, NC; three sisters, Mrs. Drayton (Edna) Clary of Gaffney, Mrs. Johnny (Clara) McGinnis of Mooresboro, NC., and Mrs. Dan (Lucy) Philbeck of Shelby; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The body is at Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home of a granddaughter and will receive friends at the mortuary form 7 to 9 pm Saturday.
