She was born January 27, 1915 in Lewistown, Ohio, the daughter of Homer M. and Loretta Thompson Wright. She was a graduate of Ball State University in 1936. She was a homemaker and was active in the Anderson community serving on the board of the YWCA, and was a member of the AAUW, was a founder of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation and a charter member of the Pink Ladies of Community Hospital. She was former member of the Colonial United Methodist Church. She was a self-taught artist, wrote many poems and was published a several anthologies. In 2010, her family published a collection of 100 of her poems. She married Gordon A. France April 17, 1937 and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2009.
Survivors include three children: Carolyn (Gene) Lausch, Robert (Shirley) France and Richard (Patricia) France; seven Grandchildren: Eric (Colleen O'Brien) Lausch, Kristen (Eric) Hailperin-Lausch, Sloane Anderson, Jon Lausch, Robert (Diane) France, Aaron (Amanda) France, Nathan (Jaala Hughes) France. Ten great grandchildren: Ava and Claudia Lausch, Rebecca and Jacob Hailperin-Lausch, Chandlar Anderson, Ivan and Kyle France, Zoë, Lillian, and Reed Hughes-France, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, Doyle Wright and Wallace Wright; two sisters: Mildred Ronan and Gertrude Wright.
Graveside services were at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
