October 24, 1950 obituary. Funeral services for Lawrence A Blackstock, 43, who died at his home 640 Ocean Avenue after a long illness will be held at 749 Congress Street at 3 pm today. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Mr. Blackstock was born in Waco, Ga in 1907. He was graduated from the Georgia School of Technology. From 1928 to 1936 he served in the US Marine Corps and saw action in the Nicaraguan campaign. Later he was superintendent of maintenance at Doctors Hospital, Washington DC. In 1945, he moved to Portland where he was employed at the Maine General Hospital until his illness. Surviving are his widow, Hanna M Blackstock and a daughter, Nancy A. Portland; his mother Nancy A Blackstock, Bremen, Ga.; a sister, Erva Blackstock, Atlanta, Ga.; and two brothers, Charles, of New Orleans, La, and Frank D., of Stockholm, Sweden.
