Mrs. Marit Bredeson was born June 4, 1850 of the parents Christopher and Kari Brenden, in Nordre Fron, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway. She was baptized and confirmed in the old North Fron Church. At the age of 17 she came to America with her parents going first to Filmore County. After about 2 years they came to Starbuck and settled on the homestead which is now the home of the John Brenden family. On the 9th of June 1874 she was married to Arne Bredeson. ...

Brother, Jacob Brenden, father of Christ & John Brenden, Mrs. Oluf Smedstad, Mrs A. J. Nordberg.
Her sister was Mari Hagestuen, mother of John, Ole and Julius Hagestuen, Mrs. Gotfred Nordstrom, Mrs. Mina Opdahl.
Daughter Mrs. Ole Overstad died a short time ago.
She is survived by the following children: Ole of Walden; Mathilda, Mr. John Johnson of Mpls; Caroline, Mrs. Albert Anderson of Mpls; Bennie and Adolph and Mrs. Jennie Thompson of Starbuck.
