Leland Edwin Leak, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the NM Veterans Home in Truth or Consequences, NM.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Leland Edwin Leak was born in Atchison, Kansas on July 15, 1933 to Warren and Ruth (Pearson) Leak.
He was raised and educated in Atchison and later married Cynthia Ann Adams on April 5, 1954 in Newberry, England.
Leland served in the USAF for 20 years prior to retirement in 1971. He was later employed as a Police Officer and eventually worked his way up to a Case Manager position with the Colorado Prison system. He was a Master Mason with the Masonic Lodge #57 in Salida, Colorado and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Carlsbad.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia Leak of Carlsbad; daughter, Holly Scanga of San Antonio, TX; sons: Sam Leak of Salida, CO and John Leak of Carlsbad as well as 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
