Roger was born April 1, 1949, in Bowie to Burl and Helen Marie Allen. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army.
Roger was a truck driver for more than 50 years, where he worked for UPT Trucking and was an owner/operator. He received a Grandmaster Truck Driving ring from UPT. He loved to play poker and some more poker and loved to talk. Roger loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Billy.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Beverly of Amarillo; two sons, Bobby Allen of Amarillo and Cliff Barcheers and wife Sharla of Lubbock; a daughter, Misty Leamond of Amarillo; a brother, Ronny Ivey and wife Debbie of Amarillo; a sister, Terri Chumley of Lubbock; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
