Married Revolutionary War soldier Jordan Milum 2 Aug 1792; mother of Jordan's children: Samuel James (married to Drucilla Ragsdale), John Belfield (married to Levica Louise Hamby), Jordan Washington, Dudley, Susanah (who married Miles Patton), Bartlett "Bart" (who married Elizabeth Warren), twins William Bluford and Thomas W., Henry C. (who married Susan Campbell), Nancy (who married Thomas Warren), Edward and unnamed infant born in 1796. Earlier, this memorial listed her second husband as John Patton, Jr. He was married to Mary Jane's sister Mary Martha. It has been suggested that Mary Jane married John Patton in 1851 after Jordan Milam's death. John Patton was thought to have died in either 1848 or 1851. There is no 1850 census record for him, and it's not clear that he was even alive in 1851 to marry Mary Jane. There is no documentary evidence of their marriage currently, and no gravestone to show her name when she died. Indeed, in 1855, Mary applied for a widow's war pension for Jordan, and she is listed simply as Mary Milam, with no reference to having married a second time. Mary and Jordan's daughter Susannah married John and Martha's son Miles Patton.
