The grandson, Walter, passed along some information to his children. One item is that his grandfather died when Walter was about 10-12 years old, and they carried him over the mountain to Griffin Cemetery for burial. That would mean Isaiah died between 1900-1902, roughly. His wife Sarah Ann died between 1880-1900, most likely in St. Clair County, Alabama, but the family doesn't know her burial location.
By Murder, Accident, and Natural Causes, by Joseph L. Whitten, page 99 -
"Mar. 6, 1902, Springville Item: Partlow. Died Mr. Isah Haithcock last Friday night. He fought in the Indian Wars and for his services drew a pension of $96 yearly. He was over ninety years old."
Grandson Walter also said the Hithcox family lived in the Greensport area, on what they called "Hithcox Mountain". There was a lot of cotton farming going on in the area.
