Her father was John Flemming, b.?, died in Germany and Rosa (LIETZ, not COMISKI, as family had thought) Flemming, b. 2-7-1838, d. 12-18-1916 in Rosen, she had two brother's: Joe FLEMING of St Mary's, N.D. and Peter FLEMING of Chicago, IL and sister Martha who married Frank ASCHARTZ and moved to Waverly, S.D, Mother, Rosa Flemming, 1896 immigrates to Rosen, living with Mary and Henry until her death.
Mary's Obit states She lived with friends (unknown) in Lac Qui Parle Co., south of Big Stone, MN for one year before marrying at age 17; they had 17 children and she would die of a stroke at age 56.

Henry and his brothers inherit father's land parts of sections 17, 20, 21, 28 adjoining cousin Flamm (until 1923) in section 21- divided below: On a 1900 land plat, Nic's land is divided between 4 sons: John N, Henry, Leander, and Hearon, see father's memorial for that land division.
Henry, inherits the S.E. section 28 of 240 acres, he will purchase neighbor farms to the south from Ludwig Ulrich and part of Herman Brehmer/John Dols farm, totallying 240 more acres (480 acres), the latter farms will be given to son Leo until his 1949 death. the S.E. corner of sec. 28 farm after Leo's 1949 death then his dau: who is gg son. Henry Rademacher, then to Mary Ann Karels- Reiffenberger, currently owned by David Reiffenberger's widow. farmhouse built by Henry unlivable, land is rented to neighbor farmers.

Karels, following a three-year long illness...Mr. Karels was born July 15, 1871 in (Hollywood) Carver Co, MN. He farmed in Yellowbank twsp 1885 to 1926 when he retired and moved to Ortonville. His wife, who preceded him in death March, 22, 1933, was the former Mary Fleming. He is survived by 16 of 17 children, 66 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, preceding him in death, dau. Mrs. Phillip Karels. Since September, 1946, he made his home with his son Henry P. Karels,
