Joshua Kimbrell was the son of John R. Kimbrell and Jane Davis. He was born about 1858 and died before October, 1903. He likely had physical contact with Mary Ann Johnston. Mary Ann may have been pregnant at the time of her marriage to Thomas Franklin Guinn in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. She may or may not have known she was pregnant at the time.
In the 1880 Rockcastle County, Kentucky census, Joshua was working on a farm not far from where Mary Ann Johnston was living with her parents, Levi Pennington Johnston and Rebecca Rader Smith.

All of the DNA evidence I have collected and submitted to familytreedna.com has resulted in the descendants of Chester Arthur Guinn, the eldest son of Mary Ann Johnston, are descended or related to the Kimbrell family. There was only one possibility for that contact to occur. The rest of the children of Mary Ann Johnston and Thomas Franklin Guinn are descendants of John R. McCollum, Thomas Franklin Guinn's father, and Mary Margaret Guinn, with Mary Ann being the daughter in law of John R. McCollum. At the time Thomas Franklin Guinn was born, John R. McCollum was married to Elizabeth Guinn, Mary Margaret's sister.
I have letters, copies of bible pages and DNA evidence to prove everything I have just written.

My name is Michael Clinton Guinn. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and Chester Arthur Guinn is my great grandfather.
