Doris L. Smith, 82 of Yakima, died May 20, 2015 at Summitview Health Care Center, Yakima, WA. She was born September 13, 1932 in Yakima to William and Selma Lund, and had lived in the Yakima area all of her life. She graduated from Yakima High School in 1950.
Doris enjoyed painting, traveling, decorating, cooking for her family, shopping and playing the slots. She was very generous and had a loving personality, and a wonderful smile a great sense of humor and instantly warmed the room with her laugh. She was loved by all who met her and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by three sons: Wayne (Carmel) McElrea, Terry (Janet) McElrea, and David McElrea; sister: Helen Lund; seven grand-children: Brian (Kori) McElrea, Heather (Ian) Richardson, Melissa (Jon) Dupen, Chris (Erica) McElrea, Nick McElrea, Audrey McElrea, and Abigail McElrea; three great-grandchildren: Dylan Richardson, Cameron and Mirabelle Dupen.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Wayne McElrea, Sr., Don Maples and Gene Smith (married 2004); her parents: William and Selma Lund; siblings: Anna, Dorothy, Harold, Richard, Rose and Thelma. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. The family would like to thank everyone at Summitview Healthcare Center especially Lisa for your loving care of Doris.
