Member of Company A, 33rd Regiment of the Illinois Volunteer Infantry. Died in a railroad accident approximately three miles west of Boutte Station when the 33rd was on the way back to New Orleans. Originally buried at Freret's Plantation in St. Charles Parish. Remains recovered and interred in Chalmette National Cemetery in 1868. Grave in Section 86, currently unmarked.
