He went hunting for Grosbeck and the shell ih his gun jammed and then shattered his left arm. His family called for a doctor and he arrived the next day, but too late to save Alphee Jr. He died and left his new bride after only 5 months of marriage. (14 Aug 1905). He passed at the age of 23 years and 2 months. He is buried in St. Nicholas Cemetery with his Father and other family members in Patoutville, Iberia, Louisiana. (see news article)

She lived 8 years after he passed.They had two children, Polycarpe Joseph Norris (25 Nov 1914 - 16 Jan 1979@ 64) Polycarpe Joseph was born in Iberia Parish, Louisiana and died in Anaheim California. He is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Groves, Jefferson, Texas near his parents. (129575165).Their second child was Howard Joseph Norris (21 Oct 1920 - 12 Sep 1994 @ 73). He was born in Iberia Parish and Passed in Port Arthur. He is also buried in Greenlawn Cemetery in Groves, Jefferson, Texas (129575465). He served during World War II in the US Navy. He Married his Wife, Elizabeth Ann Keever-Norris (1926-2018), in 1954. His family moved to Port Arthur Texas in the 1920s and Howard worked at Gulf Oil Corporation.
