He was married to Madeline Byrd "Mattie" Hall (1861-1950), the daughter of John Hall and Katherine (Byrd) Hall.
A salesman for a general mercantile company and living in the Robert E Lee Apartments at 2118 Hayes, Nashville, he was 86 years old when he died at home of chronic nephritis on December 10, 1941. Burial was the next day in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
