LUCAS, Marguerite A. "Maggie" Maggie was born Nov ember 16, 1924 to Jack and Augusta Rowles in Spokane where she was a lifelong resident. After graduation from Holy Names Academy she worked for the phone company. She met the love of her life, Lawrence E. Lucas "Bus" and was married on January 11, 1947. Mom was an avid golfer for many years having to finally give it up at age 88. Mom was also very active with gardening, swimming, pilates and aerobics. She kept herself in excellent shape. Maggie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Bus; daughter, Candi Rome; and her cousin/best friend since childhood, Betty Stirn. Her survivors include sons, Steve (Vicki), Dan (Lorraine), Rick (Juanita;) and daughter, Cindy Pruden. Grandchildren: Bret Lucas, Kyle Lucas, Ty Lucas, Cammie Kubas, Joe Lucas, Carrie Lucas, Eddie Abrams and Maggie Abrams. Great-Grandchildren: Annalea, Moneka, Drayton, Kobe, Alex, Chole, Kamil, Zane and one on the way. Other survivors include her niece, Kathy Ferster; brother, Jack Rowles; sister and brother in laws. Mom's entire family will miss her love, kindness and generosity. She was a loving wife and a loving mother to her immediate and extended family. Mom took great pride in her children's successes in life and encouraged high standards and beliefs which were respected by those who knew and loved her. We will really miss the instant smile, funny comments and good times we had. The family would like to offer our special thanks to our cousin, Kathy Ferster for her care and support during mom's illness and the wonderful care she received at Holy Family Hospital. A memorial service will be held at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, Saturday, July 26th at 11:00 am. A celebration of life will follow the service at her home.
