Bertha M. Gaedtke (Mrs. Sylvester), 85 Walhain, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 20, 2010, at Oak Creek Assisted Living in Luxemburg. She was born in Duvall on Feb. 10, 1925, to the late Wilbert and Alice (Delveaux) Dart. On Feb. 27, 1946, she married Sylvester Gaedtke at St. Martin Church in Tonet. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 2009. Bertha was a homemaker and enjoyed her many Avon customers over the years. She also enjoyed their cottage at Red River. She was a member of the Ralph Kline American Legion Auxiliary Unit 262 in Luxemburg.

Survivors include one daughter and one son-in-law, Jill and Randy Bosman, Walhain; two grandsons and their spouses, Barry and Kelly Bosman, Brad and Kim Bosman; four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kailey, Bryce and Bailey Bosman; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Marvin and Norma Gaedtke, Marian Gaedtke, all of Luxemburg; nieces and nephews.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother; one brother-in-law, Melvin Gaedtke; one nephew, Wayne Bosdeck; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Amanda Gaedtke.

Friends may call at the McMAHON FUNERAL HOME, LUXEMURG, 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010. The Ralph Kline American Legion Auxiliary Unit 262, Luxemburg memorial service 6 p.m., and the St. Mary Church parish prayer service 7 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue between 9:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Church in Luxemburg. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Milton Suess officiating. Entombment in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay.

The Family wishes to offer a note of appreciation to the Staff of Oak Creek Assisted Living in Luxemburg for care offered to Bertha.
