James Kendall was the son of Edward Kendall, brother of well known bugler Ned Kendall (#18927552). A clarinet player, Mr. Kendall was West Point Band's Director for three years. A professional clarinetist, first back in Boston, then in a touring company, and later in a San Francisco theater, he dropped dead one evening just before performing. A local article of the times indicates he was buried in San Francisco.
