Melvin Rex Bruce was born on January 28th 1937 to Marshall J Bruce and Maxine Elizabeth Bruce, in Junction City, Kansas. He was educated at the Junction City community school. Later, Buzz served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Bremerton. On July 6th 1958, he and Lurlynn Golden were united in marriage in Herington Kansas, making their home in Junction City, where they raised their family until their later divorce. Buzz was the Captain of the Junction City fire department for over 20 years, teaching fire safety and first aid to the local schools. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and being an outdoorsman. Buzz also had a country western band called, “Buzz & The Blue Boys”.
