Caledonia, Minn. --- Mrs. Ida Metcalf, 82, died at her home at 6:30 p. m. yesterday following a lingering illness which had kept her bedridden since last October.
A daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Manson Prudy [sic], she was born July 28, 1860, at Hawley, Pa. She was married July 3, 1878, at Lansing, Ia., and moved to Portland Prairie southwest of Caledonia with her husband, George W. Metcalf, Sr., where they lived for many years. Her husband died 22 years ago. Among those preceding her in death was a twin sister, Mrs. Idella Sharky.
Survivors include the following children: Mrs. Livingston (Eva) Weida, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Richards, both of Caledonia; Mrs. F. C. (Nellie) Bryant, La Crosse; Mrs. Henry (Sadie) Robinson of Hokah; Mrs. M. C. (Blanche) Stanwood, Marshall, Minn., George of Caledonia, Leslie of Los Angeles, Calif., Hiram of Dubuque, Ia., Cornelius of Rock Island, Ill., and Arthur of Madison, Wis.; 19 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Gaylord of Charles City, Ia., and Mrs. Millicent St. Arnold of Los Angeles.
Funeral services have not been arranged. She was a member of the Methodist church.
