Mrs. Lula Mae Williams Dekle Trapnell, age 92, died peacefully on May 22, 2015.

The Bulloch County native attended schools in Nevils, Savannah, and Register. For a brief time she worked as a nurse’s assistant in Candler and Bulloch County nursing homes. As a homemaker her focus was her family and was lovingly known as Gigi. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church. The past four years she had been a resident of Willow Pond where she received much love and care.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Williams, siblings Alton, Jim, Eugene, J.D. , Zeal Miller, Ann Fell, Faye Scott, and Belle Mincey, her husband of 52 years, John Lehmon Dekle, her husband of eight years, Barwick “Skeet” Trapnell, two grandsons, Ralph Howard, Jr., and Philip Nelson, one great-grandson, Samuel Dekle and daughter-in-law Sissy Dekle.

Surviving are her children; Johnnie and Pat Dekle of Louisville, Bonnie and Ralph Howard of Register, Mary and Al Ose of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Remer and Jane Dekle of Register, Gary and Jan Trapnell of Lemore, California and Jerry and Sally Trapnell of Clemson, South Carolina; 16 grandchildren, Georgann Pharris, David Dekle, Renee Hutcheson, Jeannie Mirani, Trey Nelson, Paul Howard, Kevin Howard, Lehmon Dekle, Stephen Dekle, Karen Shriver, Deanna Hodnicki, Celena Hughes, Lake O’Donnell, Robert Ose, Steven Ose and Diane Ose Epperly; 34 great grandchildren; two great-great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter.

Visitation will be held at Joiner Anderson Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00pm until 4:30pm with funeral service to follow at 4:30pm in the chapel with Elder Jack Anderson officiating, assisted by Elder Randy Waters.

Interment will be in Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Flowers will be appreciated however memorial contributions may be made to Lower Lotts Creek Cemetery Fund c/o Neal Bowen, 354 Dekle Road, Register, GA 30452.
