Muncie – Carl E. Bowman, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 21, 2015
following a brief illness.

He was born in Seymour, IN on September 9th, 1932, the only child of Carl S. Bowman and Juanita M. McKinney Bowman and was a 1950 graduate from Shields High School, Seymour, IN.

After briefly attending Ball State Teachers College, he enlisted in the Navy February 1952 as Seaman Apprentice and received an honorable discharge in June 1952.

He had worked at Delco-Remy Anderson in the Engineering Design Division and also at Ontario Forge Corp. as Product Engineering Superintendent until his retirement in 1987 after which he began a second career of investing in real estate.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of cars, nature, all types of animal life, gardening, and taking care of the pond at Applewood Park Villas.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa (Dirk) Osterhoff, Muncie, and stepsons, Kevin Todd (Lesia) Jackson, Muncie, and Jeff Jackson, IL. Granddaughters, Lindsay Osterhoff, Sara Copeland and Judi Lee. Step-grandchildren Kala Jackson, Brittney Greene, Jeffrey Jackson Jr., Derek Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Josh Jackson and six great-grandchildren, Muncie cousins Paul and James Hendershot and special cousins and care givers, Juanita Ruth Mullins and Annis Aumann.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Donella Jackson Bowman, step-daughter Tammy Jackson and his two favorite dogs, General and Cory and two special cats, Sabrina and Big Ben.
