"OBITUARY OF CLARENCE BRUNKOW - Clarence Everett BRUNKOW, son of Herman and Tillie BRUNKOW was born December 31, 1911 at Western, Nebr. He was graduated from Western High school and grew to manhood in this community. He was baptized and confirmed in the St. John's Evangelical church at Western and served for a number of years as superintendent of the Sunday School. In 1938 he became a member of the Methodist church and took an active part in church work.
On March 26, 1935 he was united in marriage to Clarice FRANK at Winner, So. Dak. and to this happy union was born one son, Duane Everett.
Clarence was engaged in farming, at Western, Nebr., until two years ago when due to ill health he had to leave the farm. Since then he lived in Winner and was employed at the Outlaw Store for a time. Last October he went to Crete, Nebr. and was employed at the Crete Mills.
He passed away suddenly in Lincoln, Nebr. on May 3, 1946 after an illness of five weeks at the age of 34 years, 4 months and 2 days.
He was a very patient sufferer during his illness and all that medical science and loving care, could do was done. He was a kind and loving father and husband.
Survivors are his wife, Clarice, one son Duane, father and grandfather and a host of relatives and friends. His mother preceded him in death a little over a year ago.
Interment was made at Western, Nebr. with Rev. W. B. ZIMMERMAN of Broken Bow, Nebr. officiating." (Obit in May 1946 prob. from The Winner Advocate, Winner, Tripp Co, SD or possibly a Western, NE)
