Captain John Pickernell's will of 1913 listed son Edward, son Jenkens, son Clarence, and
son August (Gusse)--all of whom he gave 5 dollars each. The remainder of the estate was given to his wife Sarah.
"for years a captain on the lower Columbia steamboats" per death notice in Capital Journal, 4 Dec 1913
His first marriage was to Margret Ero (of one of the founding families of the Chinook). He had several children with her. He and Margaret Ero Pickernell divorced in 1893.
Captain Pickernell was the son of John Edmond Pickernell and Emmaline Redhead and therefore he was a Chinook descendant (As-kal-wilsh/Tonwah lines)
