LOWELL -- Anne M. (Harrington) Carrabis, 82, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away on Monday May 18, 2015 at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Lowell on November 26, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Katherine E. (Maloney) Harrington.

After graduating from Keith Hall in 1950, Anne worked several years as a telephone operator at Tewksbury State Hospital. In 1959, she married Alfred Carrabis, and together they raised four children. Through the years, Anne always enjoyed summering with her family in Marshfield and her "Tuesday nights out" with close friends. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed ballroom dancing, singing, and volunteering at Lowell General Hospital for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred J. Carrabis; her children, Mary Jo (Carrabis) Cholod and her husband, Henry Cholod of Tewksbury; Judith Carrabis of Lowell; Jane Carrabis of Lawrence; and Thomas R. Carrabis & his wife, Kathleen J. Carrabis, of Lowell. Anne was very proud of all her children, as well as her three grandchildren: Andrew, Allison, & Aimee Carrabis. She leaves two brothers, Jeremiah J. Harrington of Andover & William C. Harrington of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Lola Harrington of Maine; and many cousins, nieces & nephews. She also leaves behind a special friend, Hector Morales of Lowell.

Anne was also the sister of the late Robert J. Harrington & George F. Harrington, and, a sister-in-law to the late Alice Harrington & Eleanor Harrington.
