Ross Dobson was the postmaster and general store owner at Chestnut, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. On October 28, 1927, a man named Aaron Ray entered his store, stole some merchandise and shot and killed Dobson. Ray was later found guilty and sentenced to death.
