A.J. Chappuis Passes Away
Alexander J. Chappuis, 58, a resident of Lodi for the past 45 years, passed away in a local hospital Saturday evening. Although in ill health for a long time, he had been very active. He was employed as a tool and die maker at the Continental Can Co. in Stockton. A native of Fairbault, Minn., Mr. Chappuis made his home in Lodi at 209 Hilborn st. He was a member of the Machinists Union and the California Farm Bureau.
The deceased leaves his wife, Mrs. Lydia Chappuis, and three children, Louis A. Chappuis, Mrs. Dorothy Snyde, and Miss Evalyn Chappuis, all of Lodi. Four grandchildren survive. They are Nancy and Renne Chappuis, and Pamela and Douglas Snyde, all of Lodi.
Mr. Chappuis was the brother of Peter, George, Albert and Henry E. Chappuis, and Mrs. Vernon Pope, all of this city. He was also the brother of the late John Chappuis and the late Nellie Beckman, both of Lodi.
Also surviving are two brothers-in-law, George Adrian of Lodi, and Jacob Adrian, Sacramento.
