Constance "Connie" K. Yancey, 97, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Avante Nursing Home in Harrisonburg. She was born August 6, 1917, in West Virginia.
Connie "Mammaw" was preceded in death by her husband, Radford D. Yancey; a daughter, Mary Yvonne Spitzer; and a grandson, Jess Edward Sager.
She is survived by a daughter, Dolly Flemming and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Connie Y. Sager-Richardson and Joe and Doug Fleming; and four great-grandchildren.
Connie worked at RMH and JMU for many years. She was always known to be fun-loving and was a talented artist. Her dogs brought her much joy, and they were certainly loved by her in return.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
